ENCLOSURES

Dear Sir Patrick

I was indeed very interested to get your letter of the 12th November and to hear that, with the assistance of the local authorities, your enquiries are proceeding satisfactorily. that everyone concerned with Hong Kong will look forward to seeing your report.

I am sure

I will certainly bring to the notice of the authorities concerned with the fixing of the rate of subsistence allowances for Hong Kong the remarks in the latter part of your letter about hotel charges. Im sorry to hear that your hotel han no writing room, and that it is necessary for you to do your evening work in you inadequately furnished room. NO dopbt, if this arrangement boconos impossible, you will sock the Colonial Secretary's assistance in finding some office accomodation which you could use in the evening.

with best wishes,

To

FURTHER ACTION

Sozel,
